There was more action in London GAA cup competitions over the weekend compared to last week when the cups were plagued by walk overs being awarded to teams.
This weekend’s McArdle cup action was kicked off by Eire Og v Shalloe Pearse in group one at Ruislip. The two teams played out a tight low scoring game with Shallow Pearse eventually winning 1-6 to 0-4. The second game in group one was also a close affair. Thomas McCurtains edged Tara by two points as they won 2-8 to 0-12.
The second group of the McArdle cup featured two one sided games. First up defending champions St Clarets swept aside Naomh Padriag with ease winning 6-29 to 0-0. While Dulwich Harps beat Friar Murphys 3-23 to 0-5.
The McArdle Cup semi finals take place this Sunday at Ruislip. First up is Thomas McCurtain’s Tir Chonaill Gaels at 2.30pm. St Clarets and Tara play in the second semi final at 4pm.
Over in the Murphy Cup it was Semi Final time. Harlesden Harps beat cu chulainns at Ruislip on Saturday evening winning 1-13 to 1-7. While on Sunday afternoon St Josephs booked their final place with a comfortable 11 point win over Neasden Gaels as they won 2-11 to 0-6. The final , Harlesden Harps v St Josephs will be played at Ruislip at 5pm on Saturday evening.
In the first group of the Tipperary Cup there was once walk over Parnells conceded their match with St Kiernans. Elsewhere in group one Kingdom Kerry Gaels recorded at ten point win over Garryowen winning 2-12 to 0-8.
In the second group in the Tipperary Cup Tir Chonaill Gaels and Round Towers played out a tense but entertaining 0-9 to 0-9 draw. While North London Shamrocks beat Fulham Irish 1-12 to 0-7 at Ruislip.
There was no action in the Collins Cup. The scheduled group 2 clash between Sean Traceys and Cu Chulians was conceded by Sean Traceys.
In the Ronan Cup Fr Murphys lost to St Gabriels 0-12 to 1-11. The rest of the action came from Group 2. Robert Emmetts B beat Kilburn Gaels B 1-12 to 0-5. While St Declans who have recently joined the London county board lost to Thomas McCurtains narrowly in Goodmayes going down 1-17 to 2-7.
